Instructions

Download the files and extract them into your root directory ( Root directory is your Black Ops 3 install )

Step 1 : Setting the scripts up

Add the GSC, CSC and GSH to root/usermaps/YOUR_MAP_NAME/scripts/zm/
Open the GSH, GSC and CSC and find / replace all references as follows:

Open your mapname GSC and CSC from root/usermaps/YOUR_MAP_NAME/scripts/zm/ and add

Step 2 : Add to your zone

Right click your map in launcher and click !!Edit Zone File!!
Add the following:

Step 3 : Radiant

Place the perk prefab in your map map_source/_prefabs/zm/harrybo21_prefabs/perks/vending_custom_perk_struct.map

Step 4 : Sounds

Go to root/raw/sound/aliases/ and open custom_perk_sounds.csv
Change the jingle and sting alias to your desired sounds and change the references to “custom_perk”
Go to root/usermaps/YOUR_MAP_NAME/sound/zoneconfig Open YOUR_MAP_NAME.szc and add a new alias:

Step 5 : Compile and Test

In Launcher, tick Compile and link then click Build - this should be enough to create your machine and be able to buy it

NOTE: THIS IS SET UP FOR PORTERS LUA MOD, FOLLOW HIS TUTORIAL ON SETTING UP THE ICON FOR THE PERK, THIS TUTORIAL HAS SET UP EVERYTHING ON THE GSC AND CSC SIDE.

You will also need to set your models, shaders, bottle weapon files etc in the perk GSH - and if you change the specialty you use, make sure to change the KVP on the prefab - and the reference in the GSH
When you add your models and shaders to the gsh properly, you will also need to add them to your zone:

You can copy paste this template as many times as you like to create more perks, although they must use unique specialties, from the list ive provided in the download, and youll need to change the script names ( and references to them )

The Shaders in the Call of Duty franchise are sort of an infamous feature. They were first seen in Modern Warfare, and installing them was worst experience with the game, and that’s not an understatement.

For some reason, they get stuck majority of the time and forces players to wait enormous amounts of time before entering the game. Unfortunately, they were implemented in the newest addition Cold War too, and players are getting the same issues.

How to Fix Infinite Shader Installation – COD Black Ops Cold War

After a long download and installation of the game, you launch it to get the shader install prompt. Unlike Modern Warfare, Cold War actually can be played before the shaders can be installed.

But that is no way anything useful. I mean technically you can play the game but you might experience performance issues during gameplay.

Nevertheless, enough about Activision’s shortcomings. Let’s get to the actual fixes for the infinite shader installation in Black Ops Cold War:

Launch Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War.
Go to your Settings.
Navigate to Graphics and scroll down to the bottom.
Click on Reset Shaders Compilation and then click Restart.
Once you do this, quickly quit the game and then launch it again.
Wait until the Shaders get installed.

What To Do If They Freeze Again?

If that installation runs for the whole eternity, then you can simply reset the process by going to the campaign mode and when prompted that shaders are getting installed, click Play Anyway.

Once you do this, they will be paused for a while. To start it again, quit the campaign mode. The download should continue from where it left off.

However, you can still have the shaders installation stuck. If you do, quit the game, go to the saves folder and rename your profile by adding a word like “old”.

This will reset all settings. Launch the game after this, and if the shader installation is still stuck, repeat the process from above. Good luck!
