I purchased FMP 14 Advanced online from the Filemaker store back in May,
and it doesn’t appear that I put a copy of the installer file on CD as I
have diligently done with all of my previous versions. Now I’m getting the
following message when I try to run FM files, so something has been
damaged, and I have no way to reinstall:
'This application has been installed incorrectly or modified by another
program. Please run the Installer to get a fresh copy of the application
after determining the cause.”
I did try running the 14.0.4 updater thinking that it might fix the
problem, but it didn’t.
So here’s the question: what can I do to get another installer file since
the download is no longer available on the FM store site? Do I have to
purchase a DVD (would mean a LONG wait to get it), or does someone have an
installer that I can download and apply my license key? Or is there
something else I can do to get back up and running? I do have a clone and
can restore my system it, but that will still leave me without an installer.
Being a person who’s rabid about backups, I feel pretty dumb in not getting
this one taken care of. I’m just sure that I uploaded it to Dropbox for
safekeeping but can’t find it there either.
Suggestions?
